Liza Papazian

Liza is the owner of Empowerment Massage Clinic and provides a strong foundation in both business and therapeutic skills to provide the best possible experience for her clients and staff alike. Graduating from Bishop’s University in 1995 with a degree in Business Administration and Political Studies, she moved to Fredericton in 1998 and returned to school to study Massage Therapy. She completed the program in 2001 from Kine-Concept Institute of Massage Therapy, and received the first “outstanding practical hands-on award” which helped her to become the first Canadian to earn the American Massage Therapy Scholarship Award.

Before opening her clinic, she was the lead instructor at Kine-Concept from 2001 to 2005 where she taught Remedial Exercise, Gross Anatomy and Therapeutic Massage Treatments and Assessments. In 2004, she became certified in Active Release Techniques and now has over 18 years of experience in the specialized field.

Upon opening, the clinic quickly became known for focusing on treating those with chronic soft tissue injuries and facilitating restoration of function in the body. The clinic has seen years of success and growth to provide more variety in treatments and improve the lives of as many people as possible.

 Liza’s knowledge of A.R.T., assessments and abilities are backed by years of personal experience with sports. She was an elite level gymnast during her youth and competed in boxing at a national level throughout the late 2000’s. As an avid runner and lover of exercise, her past experience with injury has come in handy with helping figure out the best path of treatment and recovery for her clients.  

Recently, Liza has returned to her practice in the field of Reiki and Healing Touch which focusses on the use of universal energy to encourage the body to heal even more effectively. The incorporation of energy work combined with the mechanical work of ART and deep tissue massage is proving to be an excellent combination to bring relief to all of her clientele alike.
